Diners serve eggs, pancakes, hash browns and bottomless coffee from early morning, sometimes around the clock; breakfast and brunch restaurants open around 7 and close in the early afternoon; delis and sandwich shops sell egg sandwiches and bagels to go and switch to lunch by 11. Weekend brunch, roughly 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is the busiest shift of the week, and well-known spots run waits of 30 to 60 minutes; many now take reservations or a waitlist through an app. Expect large portions, free refills on drip coffee and a tip of 15 to 20 percent for table service. Creperies, waffle houses and bistros round out the group with sweeter or European-style menus.

Chula Vista is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Chula Vista is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Cute little breakfast place. Excellent food and very friendly, bubbly wait staff. Online it talked about "healthy" food, but I mostly saw standard hearty dishes. Nothing to complain about, but I would not necessarily call them healthy. There was one salad option for brunch though. My husband got juevas ranchers. The sauce was really good. It came with beans and fried tortillas. The eggs were cooked just right. I got the Naranjas pancakes. These were orange infused pancakes with fig jam. Very sweet but yummy. It filled me up. I ate just half. I also got a peach smoothie. This was very good and a good price. It came with a cute heart shaped straw. It was practically empty when we arrived at 9:30 am on Father's Day. The bubbly waitress expected it to get busy around noon for brunch. All three waitresses were young and cute and very attentive. One did not speak much English, but it wasn't a problem. My husband got the Cafe de olla, which is coffee with cinnamon. It is sweet. We got cute pics as is decorated very cutely in all pink.

Saw this place on tiktok and came to try it out. Service is amazing right from the moment you walk in. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Menu is full of options to choose from I went with the birria chilaquiles and consume. When my order came out I didn’t receive the consume on the side and my food wasn’t warm/hot. I informed the waitress and they apologized and would bring me out another order. Unfortunately the order never came out because they accidentally forgot. For the inconvenience they gave me 2 tacos 🌮 de birria. So for my first time experience wasn’t the greatest but hope to come back again with a better review 😇

I had one of the best dining experiences thanks to our waitress Alex Lizarraga! From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly welcoming, attentive, friendly, and professional. She made sure everything was perfect the entire time without ever making us feel rushed. Her positive attitude, attention to detail, and genuine care for customers truly stood out. It’s rare to receive service this exceptional these days, and she absolutely went above and beyond. She made our whole experience enjoyable and memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others because of her amazing service. Thank you for making our visit so special! Thank you Viva's Cafe for hiring amazing people ☕🌷.

I'm usually not one to jump straight to praise, but I have to say, this place is adorable to look at and offers great food. I was nearby wanting to try a restaurant in the area only to see if it's now permanently closed. When I saw the place from the outside, I told my mom that we should have breakfast there, and we did. The server was really nice, the place is small but feels spacious. I'm not usually a fan of pink, but here, it’s quite charming. The food servings are big sadly i didn’t finish my food.

I was here on opening day and loved it. The vibe, the food and the experience were just right. The food was delicious and the portions are big. We got full very quick, next time we’ll make sure to leave room for dessert. Until next time.
